Ohio Department of Insurance Helpful Links

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

A new self-service Agent Portal app will be live on October 1, 2026. This current Agent/Agency Locator app will remain available as is through January 20, 2027. After January 20, 2027, printing your license or viewing your CE transcript will only be available by accessing the Agent Portal by visiting the Resources page and selecting the Agent Portal link.

We are happy to introduce our new Agent Portal, which provides licensed agents and entities with more self-service and automated features.

Please note, with the new Agent Portal, updating affiliations need to be completed by an individual affiliated with the business under one of the following designation types: Licensing Coordinator, Office, Manager, Member, Director, President, Owner, Partner, Treasurer, Vice President, RDA or Secretary.

Follow these instructions to help get you started managing your individual or business entity insurance license and related activities:

Step 1: Create or Log in to Your OHID Account
  1. Go to https://ohid.ohio.gov/.
  2. Log in or create a new account. If you've renewed a vehicle registration online before, you may already have an OHID account.
  3. Start with your individual OHID account. You can add business profiles later.
Step 2: Access the Insurance Application Gateway
  1. After logging in to OHID, open the App Store on the left side of the screen.
  2. Search for Insurance Application Gateway.
  3. Select Request Access.
Step 3: Set Up Agent Portal Access and Add Profiles
  1. Once access is approved, open the Insurance Application Gateway.
  2. Select Request access to additional applications, then choose Agent Portal.
    Access is granted automatically.
  3. Add individual (agent) and business Entity profiles. You won’t see any profiles yet. Here’s how to add them:
    • To access your own individual agent profile, choose Request Access to an Individual (Agent) Profile for yourself and follow the prompts.
    • To access a business entity (agency) profile, choose Request Access to a Business Entity (Agency) Profile to which you are affiliated. To access a business profile, you must already be affiliated with the business entity. If not, the business entity must log in to its Agent Portal and add the affiliation first.
